Ecological-coenotic groups of plant species

The groups are described by Smirnova et al (2004).

A list of the ecological-coenotic groups of vascular plants:

  1. boreal intra-forest group includes species growing under the canopy of Picea spp. and Abies sibirica forests: Boreal InForest-Boreal;
  2. boreal edge-forest group includes species growing in gaps and glades of Picea spp. and Abies sibirica forests: Boreal;
  3. nemoral intra-forest group includes species growing under the canopy of forests dominated by shade-tolerant broad-leaved trees: Nemoral InForest-Nemoral;
  4. nemoral-edge group includes species growing in gaps and glades of forests dominated by shade-tolerant broad-leaved trees: Nemoral;
  5. nitrophilous intra-forest species growing in dense Alnus glutinosa forests: Nitrophilous InForest-Nitrophilou;
  6. nitrophilous edge-forest species growing in sparse Alnus glutinosa forests: Nitrophilous;
  7. piny intra-forest species growing in dense Pinus sylvestris forests: PineForest InPineForest;
  8. piny edge-forest species growing in sparse Pinus sylvestris forests: PineForest
  9. xerophilous species growing in sparse Quercus robur forests in the forest steppe-region Oak-Xerophilous;
  10. meadow-steppe group, subgroup of real steppe species: Meadow-Stepp Steppe;
  11. meadow-steppe group, subgroup of dry meadow species: Meadow-Stepp DryMeadow;
  12. meadow-steppe group, subgroup of fresh meadow species: Meadow-Stepp FreshMeadow;
  13. water-swamp group includes species of coastal and water-rich habitats and mesotrophic and eutrophic bogs: Watr-Swamp;
  14. group of adventitious species: Advent.
